Ad Campaign

What is an ad campaign?

An ad campaign is a form of advertisement which can be presented in a variety of ways (e.g. visual, print, sound). They are used for different purposes depending on what the company wants to achieve (e.g. for a charity, they may do an advert to increase the recognition for the charity and receive donations however a brand may create an advert to promote/make income).

Where may you see it?

Ad campaigns can be presented in many ways depending on the preference of the company. Some companies may decide to use a combination however others use only one by comparing the adverts purpose to the advertising type (e.g. if the advert is linked to a film, they may do a trailer as a form of advertising).

Advertising examples:

- Video (trailer, TV advert)
- Audio (radio)
- Print (poster, newspaper, magazines)
- Social media platforms

CAMPAIGN 1

Product

Dominoes Pizza

What happens in the ad?

2 Siblings are pushing each other to get downstairs first so they can get the good seat in the living room to eat Dominoes.

What makes it interesting

Having the siblings pushing each other straight away makes it interesting because it makes the audience wonder what they're fighting for in the first place (keeps the viewer engaged throughout it).

Campaign message

The pizza is so good, you will fight for it to ensure you get a slice.

CAMPAIGN 2

Product

KFC chicken

What happens in the ad?

A chicken is walking around the room and dancing to the music in the background.

What makes it interesting

The fact that the chicken is dancing makes it interesting because it is something which is unusual to watch but its memorable.

Campaign message

The chicken is so good that even the chicken itself is dancing and celebrating how good it is.

CAMPAIGN 3

Product

Bulldog skincare for men

What happens in the ad?

A man is planning to rob a bank and his bull dog starts talking to him.

What makes it interesting

The fact that the bulldog is talking makes it interesting because a talking bulldog and the product being named after the dog bulldog connects nicely together and shows that they have thought about the advert carefully to make it engaging for the audience.

Campaign message

That the moisturiser will make you feel like a better man instead of robbing the bank.
